The Brave Little Squirrel
In a grand, tall oak tree, there lived a little squirrel named Nutty. Nutty loved exploring the forest, jumping from branch to branch with his fluffy tail held high. But there was one thing Nutty feared more than anything—he was terrified of water.
One bright sunny day, a strong wind blew through the forest, and a loud crack echoed across the woods. The mighty oak tree that Nutty called home was struck by lightning and began to fall! Nutty quickly scrambled down the tree to find a safe place. But as he reached the forest floor, he realized that the only way to escape the falling tree was to cross the wide river that ran through the forest.
Nutty’s heart raced. He had never crossed the river before, and he was scared. But then he remembered something his mother had always told him: "Bravery isn't about not being scared; it's about doing what needs to be done, even when you're afraid."
Taking a deep breath, Nutty looked around and saw a large log floating by. It was big enough for him to walk across. With his tail trembling, he jumped onto the log and began to carefully balance himself.
The current was strong, but Nutty focused on staying steady. Every time the log wobbled, his heart skipped a beat, but he held on tight. Finally, with one last push, he made it to the other side of the river, just in time to watch the oak tree fall safely behind him.
Nutty realized that although he was afraid, he had overcome his fear and done what was needed to stay safe. He ran to find his family, excited to tell them about his adventure.
Moral of the Story: Courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to face it and keep moving
